Ahad lalu ketika berjalan-jalan di sekitar bangunan flat di Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, tiba-tiba saya tergerak untuk menaiki lif sehingga tingkat paling atas...
Last Sunday while walking around the flats at Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, suddenly I felt like taking the lift up to the topmost floor...
Saya pun tak tahu kenapa. Seingat saya seumur hidup saya pernah sekali sahaja menaiki flat ini, itupun setakat ke tingkat 4 menziarahi rumah sewa seorang kawan sekitar 12 tahun lalu!
I also don't know why. As far as I can remember in my whole life I've been up these flats only once, even then only up to the 4th floor to visit a friend at his rented place some 12 years ago!
Apapun, boleh tahan juga pemandangan dari sini...
Whatever, the view from here is not that bad, quite good actually...
Nampaklah bagaimana sebuah lebuhraya bertol memisahkan kawasan Kampung Baru dengan sekitar Ampang berdekatan KLCC...
So one could clearly see how a tolled highway divides the area of Kampung Baru and the vicinity of Ampang nearby the KLCC...
Ini adalah pandangan menghala ke Timur...
This is a view headings towards the East...
Menghadap ke Baratdaya... Terbentang separuh dari Kampung Baru...
Heading towards the Northeast... There sprawled half of Kampung Baru...
Satu pandangan ke Utara...

Kemudian saya melihat ke bawah. Semasa berjalan kaki di bawah inilah saya ternampak flat lalu tergerak untuk naik ke atas...
Then I looked down below. It was while walking down here that I saw the flat and felt like going up...

Untuk pengetahuan, Kampung Baru ialah satu-satunya kampung Melayu yang masih wujud di tengah bandaraya Kuala Lumpur.
For information, Kampung Baru is the one and only Malay village or enclave still exisiting in the middle of the city of Kuala Lumpur.
