Ini adalah masjid lama di Sungkai, Perak.
This is the old mosque in Sungkai, Perak.
Lihat artikel Exploring the happenings around the 1874 Pangkor Treaty in Perak... Opening the 'act' at Tanjung Malim di blogspot BERPETUALANG KE ACEH untuk sedikit penerangan...
Apart from its unique design and architecture, I am attracted to the Jawi writings at one side of the mosque's outer pillars which was made to commemorate the date of independence of the Federation of Malay states (now known as Malaysia) on 31 August 1957. Hmm... It happened that the 51th anniversary of the independence of Malaysia will be celebrated this weekend. It never occurred to me that I would be writing an article mentioning this date at such a time! When I was just writing this as a continuation of my current mood of story-telling based on my latest trip to Perak which was made some 9 days ago. Look at the article Exploring the happenings around the 1874 Pangkor Treaty in Perak... Opening the 'act' at Tanjung Malim in the blogspot BERPETUALANG KE ACEH for some explanation.
Sekian! :]
Actually I have some more interesting pictures of this mosque taken from several angles which I wish to show here... Although early in the trip to Perak I only took the 2 pictures above, on the return trip back to Kuala Lumpur 2 days later I stopped again at this mosque and take some more pictures. Too bad, it is only just now that I realised I forgot to transfer to and keep the pictures inside the computer and thus it is lost just like that. Whatever just accept the story the way it is ya. That's all! :]
