Not far from the mosque there exists this building.

Ia menempatkan makam pahlawan Perak yang terkenal dengan nama Tok Sagor.

It houses the tomb of the Perak warrior which is famous with the name Tok Sagor.

Dari Pulau Pinang kami turun ke negeri Perak lalu ke Taiping.

From Pulau Pinang we went down to the state of Perak and on to Taiping.

Singgah di Masjid Tengku Menteri yang dibina 1867 oleh hartawan perlombongan bijih timah Ngah Ibrahim...

Stopped by at Masjid (Mosque of) Tengku Menteri which was built in 1867 by the wealthy tin-mining tycoon Ngah Ibrahim...

Adapun kami bermalam di Bukit Mertajam kerana mahu melihat batu bersurat Cerok Tok Kun tidak jauh dari situ.

As it is we spent the night at Bukit Mertajam as we want to have a look at inscribed stone of Cerok Tok Kun not far from there.

Ia ditemui pegawai British, James Low pada tahun 1845.

It was found by a British officer, James Low in the year 1845.

Kelihatan ia telah diconteng dengan pelbagai tulisan termasuk oleh Low sendiri...

Looks like it has been spoilt with a variety of writings including from Low himself...

Namun lihat dengan teliti dan anda dapat menemui tulisan India purba, dipercayai dibuat pada abad ke-5 Masihi.

But look closely and you could find ancient Indian writings, believed to have been made in the 5th century AD.
