Masjid (Mosque of) al-Qadri, Air Hitam, Pulau Pinang

Another mosque visited that day is the mosque of al-Qadri at Air Itam.

Ia katanya dibina oleh seorang keturunan Nabi Muhammad SAW.
It is said to have been built by someone descended from Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Masjid negeri (State mosque of) Pulau Pinang

Come the time for the Jumaat (compulsory congregational) prayers I went to this mosque.

Ia adalah masjid negeri Pulau Pinang.
It is the state mosque of Pulau Pinang.

Gambar-gambar ini diambil selepas solat.
These pictures were taken after prayers.

Scene inside the main praying hall...

Makam lama di pangkal pokok di (Old tomb at the base of a tree in) Pulau Pinang

At the side compound of the mosque lies this big tree.

Di bawahnya terdapat sejumlah makam lama.
Underneath it there exists a number of old tombs.

Could be seen a tombstone standing out from the base of the tree.

It is impossible for the tomb of a Muslim person to be erected inside a tree. This gives the suggestion that the tree was still small or did not exist when the tomb was built.

Thus looking at the size and height of the tree I estimate the tomb to be more than 300 years old.

Makam (Tomb of) Haji Kassim, Kampung Makam

Di halaman belakang masjid terdapat bangunan ini.
At the rear compound of the mosque lies this building.

Ia menempatkan makam pengasas masjid dan kampung berserta makam ahli keluarga.
It houses the tomb of the founder of the mosque and village along with tombs of family members.

Inilah makam pengasas tersebut, Haji Kassim atau Sheikh Kassim.
This is it the tomb of the said founder, Haji Kassim or Sheikh Kassim.

Masjid (Mosque of) Kampung Makam, Pulau Pinang

After some time we reached Pulau Pinang. Passed by Jalan (road of) Dato' Kramat and saw this mosque.

Letaknya di Kampung Makam...
Its location is at Kampung (village of) Makam...

Seorang penduduk memberitahu ia sudah wujud seawal tahun 1819.
A local said it has been in existence as early as the year 1819.

Masjid lama (Old mosque of) Bagan Serai

Upon reaching Bagan Serai we saw this interesting building.

Papan tanda menyebutkan sebagai Masigit Lawas. Ia bermakna masjid lama dalam bahasa orang Banjar...
Its sign board mentioned it as Masigit Lawas. It means old mosque in the languange of the Banjar people (a Malay sub-ethnic race).

Makam Long Jaafar pada siang hari (Tomb of Long Jaafar during daytime)

Ke hadapan sedikit terdapat jalan menuju ke makam seorang tokoh.
Slightly further ahead there lies a road leading to the tomb of a figure.

Beliau ialah Long Jaafar, saudagar bijih timah pertengahan abad ke-19.
He is Long Jaafar, tin mining tycoon in the middle of the 19th century.

Sebuah artikel bertajuk Makam (Tomb of) Long Jaafar telah dibuat tentang kompleks permakaman ini lebih 3 tahun lalu.
An article titled Makam (Tomb of) Long Jaafar has been made on this tomb complex more than 3 years ago.

Cuma ia menunjukkan keadaan waktu malam. Yang ini baru nampak waktu siang.
