Perjalanan siang itu ditutup dengan persinggahan ke Masjid jamek Merbok.

The day trip was closed with a visit to Masjid jamek (main mosque of) Merbok.

Di sini saya melepaskan sedikit penat lelah sebelum mandi dan bersolat Maghrib...

Here I released some of the tiredness before taking a shower and doing the Maghrib (after dusk) prayers...

Saya juga mendapat tahu ada tinggalan bangunan dipercayai daripada 500 tahun Sebelum Masihi.

I also found out there are remains of a building believed to be from 500 years Before Christ.

Cuma untuk ke situ saya harus berjalan sedikit jauh ke bahagian paling hujung barat...

It's just that to get there I have to walk a bit far to the furthermost section to the west...

Mengikut panduan yang saya baca inilah tinggalan bangunan berusia 2,500 tahun itu.

According to the guide I've read this should be remains of the 2,500 year old building.

Di seberang jalan terdapat banyak lagi penemuan arkeologi. Semuanya menjadikan Sungai Batu tapak arkeologi tamadun yang tertua pernah ditemui di Asia Tenggara setakat ini.

Across the road there is more archeological findings. All this made Sungai Batu the oldest archeological site of a civilisation which has been found in South-East Asia so far.

Around 2 km journey from the tomb of Sultan Muzaffar in turn lies the archeological site of Sungai Batu...

Kawasan ini mula dibuka tahun 2010. Banyak tinggalan bangunan lama daripada abad ke-4 Masihi, malah lebih awal ditemui.

This area was first opened in the year 2010. Plenty of remains of old building from the 4th century AD, in fact earlier were found.

Semakin lama semakin banyak kawasan terbuka lalu membentuk apa yang dilihat hari ini.

Further in time more area was opened forming what could be seen today.

Informasi di pondok ini menunjukkan ada relau pembuatan besi telah ditemui dari abad ke-2 Masihi. Selain itu ada tinggalan bangunan berusia 2,000 tahun!

Information in this hut shows that there are furnaces for producing iron found from the 2nd century AD. Apart from that there are remains of buildings aged 2,000 years!

Petang kemudian kami pergi ke makam Sultan Muzaffar Shah I berdekatan Merbuk, orang yang dinyatakan sebagai raja pertama Kedah memeluk Islam.

Later in the afternoon we went to the tomb of Sultan Muzaffar Shah I close to Merbuk, the person said to be the first king of Kedah to have embraced Islam.
