Pameran sisi di Muzium Islam (Side exhibition at Islamic Museum), Melaka




Petang sedikit saya singgah di Muzium Islam lalu melihat pameran yang terdapat di sisi bangunannya.
A bit in the afternoon I stopped by at the Islamic museum and looked at the exhibitions available at the side of its building.


Terdapat replika 3 buah objek bersejarah Alam Melayu.
There exist replicas of 3 historical objects of the Malay world.































Terdapat juga batu-batu nesan sebenar diambil daripada tempat lain...
There are also actual tombstones taken from other places...

















Kincir air Kesultanan Melayu Melaka (Melaka Malay Sultanate water wheel)



Di tepian Sungai Melaka bersebelahan Bukit Melaka terdapat kincir air ini.
At the banks of the Melaka river besides Bukit (hill of) Melaka there lies this water wheel.





Ia adalah replika kincir air yang pernah digunakan kesultanan Melaka 500 tahun lalu. Baca maklumat yang ada...
It is a replica of a water wheel which was once used by the sultanate of Melaka 500 years ago. Read the available information...


Kubur Belanda (Dutch graveyard), Melaka



Di satu sisi bukit terdapat jalan menuju ke kubur Belanda.
At one side of the hill lies a pathway leading to the Dutch graveyard.














Jalan itu membawa turun ke belakang bukit.
The pathway leads one down to the rear of the hill.





Alang-alang menuruni bukit melalui laluan ini saya pun melihat apa yang ada...
As I've decided to go down the hill via this pathway I then had a look at what's around here...














Bukit Melaka, pusat kesultanan Melaka (Melaka hill, centre of the Melaka sultanate)



Lebih terserlah di Bandar Hilir adalah tinggalan bangunan ini.
More outstanding in Bandar Hilir is these remains of a building.



Ia dikenali sebagai A Famosa, pintu gerbang kota yang katanya dibina oleh Portugis 500 tahun lalu.
It is known as the A Famosa, the gates for a fort said to have been built by the Portuguese 500 years ago.


Sekarang kita lihat bukit di belakangnya.
Now we have a look at the hill behind it.

Ramai mengenalinya sebagai Bukit St. Paul. Berapa ramai sedar nama asalnya adalah Bukit Melaka dan ia pernah menjadi pusat pemerintahan kesultanan Melaka?
Many knows it as St. Paul's Hill. But how many people realise its original name was Bukit (hill of) Melaka and it was once the centre of rule for the sultanate of Melaka?


Turut dipaparkan maklumat tentang batu laterit yang banyak terdapat di sekitar.
Also shown are information on laterite stones which are available in large amount around.


Serangan Portugis yang membawa kepada penaklukan Kota Melaka tahun 1511 merubah rupa bukit ini.
Portuguese attacks which led to the occupation of the city of Melaka in the year 1511 changed the look of this hill.



Ini diikuti serangan Belanda yang mengambil-alih kota tahun 1641.
This is followed by attacks from the Dutch who took over the city in the year 1641.


Bukit ini turut menyaksikan peralihan pemerintahan daripada Belanda kepada British...
This hill also witnessed the shift of rule from the Dutch to the British...





Apapun, jangan lupa bahawa Bukit Melaka pernah menjadi pusat pemerintahan kesultanan Melaka. Dan istana kesultanan pernah terletak di atasnya.
Whatever, never forget that Bukit Melaka was once the centre of rule for the sultanate of Melaka. And the sultanate's palace used to be situated up there.

Ada tinggalan gereja St. Paul. Itulah yang menyebabkan bukit ini kini dikenali sebagai Bukit St. Paul.
There are remains of the church of St. Paul. That is why the hill is now known as St. Paul's Hill.
