Tanah perkuburan lama di (Old burial ground at) Kampung Chohong, Jasin, Melaka

Salam. Keluar sebentar daripada cerita tempat-tempat di Pantai Timur...

Empat hari lalu iaitu pada hari Isnin 12 September 2016 bersamaan 10 Zulhijjah 1437 Hijriah saya dan isteri telah pergi ke satu tempat di Kampung Chohong, Jasin, Melaka.

Four days ago that is on Monday 12th September 2016  equivalent to 10th Zulhijjah 1437 Hijriah (the Muslim calendar) me and wife went to a place in Kampung Chohong, Jasin, Melaka.

Ia dikatakan sebuah tanah perkuburan lama Islam.

It is said to be an old Muslim burial ground.

Kewujudannya mula mendapat perhatian ramai apabila muncul di surat khabar kurang sebulan lalu.

It's existence caught the attention of many when it appeared in newspapers less than a months ago.

Berdasarkan bentuk batu-batu nesan dan cara ukiran ia dikatakan menjadi petunjuk kepada kewujudan sebuah kerajaan lama,,,

Based on the shapes of the tombstones and how it was chiseled it is said to point out to the existence of an old kingdom...

Makam (Tomb of) Haji Abdul Malek, Sungai Pinang, Tumpat

Masuk cerita hari ke-2 perjalanan di Pantai Timur Baru ini. Bersambung daripada Makam (Tomb of) Maharaja Perba Jelai di (at) Bukit Kota.

Sampai di Tumpat kami menginap di sebuah sekolah pondok. Pagi berikutnya Rabu 31 Ogos 2016 kami dibawa keluar menziarahi satu tanah perkuburan berdekatan di Sungai Pinang.

Upon reaching Tumpat we lodged at a traditional religious school. The following morning Wednesday 31st August 2016 we were brought out for a visit to a nearby burial ground at Sungai Pinang.

Sebelum itu kami telah ke makam seorang wali yang agak terkenal iaitu Tok Selehor. Lihat artikel Visiting tomb of Tok Selehor di blogspot BERPETUALANG KE ACEH.

Yang ini pula katanya makam milik guru kepada Tok Selehor.

This one in turn is said to be the tomb belonging to the teacher/master of Tok Selehor.

Kami diberitahu nama beliau adalah Sheikh Abdul Malek.

We were told his name was Sheikh Abdul Malek.

Cuma apabila mencari rujukan di Internet saya dapati guru ini lebih dikenali sebagai Haji Abdul Malek.

It's just that when looking for references on the Internet I found that this master is better known as Haji Abdul Malek.
