Surau (Prayer house of) Ashabul Kahfi, Kuala Dungun

Selamat tahun baru. Dari hari ke-4 perjalanan ke Pantai Timur baru ini.

Happy new year. From the 4th day of the recent East Coast trip.

Selasa 21 Disember 2021. Setelah bermalam di Kuantan kami mengambil jalan pantai menuju ke utara. Sampai di Kuala Dungun kami singgah di surau ini. Menariknya namanya adalah Surau Ashahbul Kafi.

Tuesday 21st December 2021. After spending the night in Kuantan we followed the coastal road to the north. Upon reaching Kuala Dungun we stopped by at this praying house. Interestingly its name is Surau (prayer house) of Ashahbul Kafi. 

Ashahabul Kafi merujuk pada kisah beberapa orang pemuda yang melarikan diri daripada kezaliman seorang raja lalu berhenti rehat di sebuah gua. Mereka kemudian tertidur. Dengan kuasa Allah mereka tertidur selama 300 tahun tetapi menyangkakan cuma berehat sehari atau setengah hari.

Ashabul Kafi refers to the story of a number of young men who fled from an unjust king and thus stopped for a rest in a cave. They then fell asleep. Due to the power of Allah they slept for 300 years but though it was only rest of a day or half a day.

Cerita in disebut dalam kitab suci Al-Quran, dalam surah bernama Al-Kahfi.

This story is mentioned in the holy book of Al-Quran, in a verse named Al-Kahfi.

Masjid (Mosque of) Simpang Pelangai, Bentong, Pahang

Salam. Dari hari ke-3 perjalanan ke Pantai Timur baru ini.

Peace be upon you. From the 3rd day of the recent East Coast trip.

Petang Isnin 20 Disember 2021, kami mahu menyambung perjalanan ke Pantai Timur melalui Temerloh. Tetapi banyak laluan ditutup akibat banjir dan tanah runtuh disebabkan hujan lebat tak henti Jumaat dan Sabtu. Lalu kami harus mengambil jalan ke Simpang Pelangai, singgahlah di masjid ini.

Monday afternoon 20th December 2021, we wanted to continue journey to the East Coast via Temerloh. But many routes we closed due to flood and landslides caused by non-stop heavy rain Friday and Saturday. Thus we have to take the road to Simpang Pelangai, made a stop a this mosque.

Perjalanan secara rasminya bermula  pada petang Sabtu 18 Disember 2021 apabila saya dan keluarga meninggalkan rumah untuk pergi ke Kuala Kubu Bahru kemudian Tanjung Malim untuk satu majlis. Malam itu kami menginap di rumah kawan di Bukit Tinggi. Petang keesokannya Sabtu 19 Disember kami singgah di masjid sekitar itu.

The trip officially started on Saturday afternoon 18th December 2021 when me and family left our house to get to Kuala Kubu Bahru then Tanjung Malim for a function. That night we boarded at a friends house in Bukit Tinggi. The following afternoon Saturday 19th December we stopped by at the mosque around there.

Masjid ini digunakan oleh penganut Islam yang bekerja di Berjaya Hills Resort juga pelawat...
