Menurut ceritanya Tok Muar adalah Penghulu Ulu Muar bernama Dato' Muar Bongkok Abdul Malik. Beliau hidup dengan sezaman dengan Yam Tuan Radin pemerintah Negeri Sembilan 1824-1861.
According to the stories Tok Muar was Penghulu (chieftain) of Ulu Muar who name was Dato' Muar Bongkok Abdul Malik. He lived at the same era as Yam Tuan Radin ruler of Negeri Sembilan 1824-1861.
Makamnya dikatakan terletak dalam kawasan masjid ini.
His tomb is said to be located inside this mosque compound.
Tetapi terdapat satu lagi makam di sini.
But there exist another tomb here.
Dan ada mengatakan ini adalah makam imam masjid dan pembantunya.
And there are those who said this is the tomb of the mosque' imam (head of prayers) and assistant.
