Petang itu kami sampai bandar raya Nakhon Si Thammarat. Selepas berehat di hotel baru keluar berjalan lalu ke kuil.

That afternoon we arrived at the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat. After resting at the hotel then only went out and on to this temple.

Namanya Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan.

Its name is Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan.

Ia adalah kuil terbesar dan terpenting di selatan Thailand.

It is the biggest and most important temple in southern Thailand.

Sabtu 24 Disember 2022. Selepas bermalam di pusat bandar Trang kami mengorak langkah keluar lalu terlihat bangunan kuil ini.

Saturday 24th December 2022. After spending the night at Trang city centre we started our journey out and saw this temple building.

Nama kuil ini adalah Wat Tantayapirom Phra Aram Luang

The name of the temple is Wat Tantayapirom Phra Aram Luang.

Saya tertarik dengan bahagian ini.

I was attracted by this section.

Di halaman masjid terdapat sebuah makam tunggal.

In the mosque courtyard lies a singular tomb.

Saya tidak dapat membaca makam siapakah ini.

I could not read whose tomb it is.

Nampaknya ia makam seorang tokoh penting di Satun.

Looks like the tomb of an important personality in Satun.

Masjid (Mosque of) Mambang Satun

Salam dan selamat tahun baru buat semua. Mendekati penghujung tahun lalu saya dan keluarga membuat satu perjalanan ke selatan Thailand. Oleh itu ada cerita-cerita boleh dikongsikan.

Peace be upon you and happy new year to all. Towards the end of last year me and family made a trip to southern Thailand. So there are stories to be shared.

Perjalanan dimulakan apabila kami meninggalkan rumah untuk ke Jitra di Kedah pada pagi Khamis 22 Disember 2022. Esok pagi kami bergerak ke sempadan Thailand melalui Wang Kelian di Perlis. Sampai ke bandar Satun di selatan Thailand singgah ke Masjid Mambang Satun.

The trip was started when we left home by car to get to Jitra in Kedah on Thursday morning 22nd December 2022. The following morning we made our way to the Thailand border via Wang Kelian in Perlis. Upon reaching the town of Satun in southern Thailand stopped by at Masjid (mosque of) Mambang Satun.

Ia adalah masjid utama di wilayah Satun, dahulunya daerah Setul di dalam negeri Kedah.

It is the main mosque in the province of Satun, once a district in the state of Kedah.

Masjid yang kelihatan ini dirasmikan tahun 1979 menggantikan masjid lama yang diruntuhkan tahun 1974. 

The mosque seen here was officially opened in the year 1979 to replace the old mosque which was demolished in 1974.
