Makam (tomb of) Sultan Malikus Salih!

Continued from Masjid (Mosque of) Baitul Mannan, Idi...
Bersambung daripada Masjid (Mosque of) Baitul Mannan, Idi...

From Idi we moved on some 80 km to the north-west, almost 2 hours journey to Geudong where there exist the tomb which I most like to visit in Aceh, that is the tomb of Sultan Malikus Salih.

For information his majesty was the founder of the twin kingdoms of Samudera and Pasai which was once the main centre for propagating Islam to the whole of the Malay world. Sultan Malikus Salih is said to have passed away in the year 1297 AD, more than a century before the appearance of the Sultanate of Melaka as written in history books. According to the story, his majesty received the mandate to rule from the Sharif that is the king of Mekah. In fact the Sultan got the support of Rasulullah SAW through a dream and a will from the Prophet!

Di sebelah makam baginda terdapat makam Sultan Malikul Zahir, katanya anakanda baginda...
Besides his majesty's tomb lies the tomb of Sultan Malikul Zahir, said to be his majesty's son...

Sekian...
Here I would like to take the opportunity to put for prosperity a picture of me also wife and our host in Aceh, Kak Ann (in the middle). A few more pictures will be made into a story at the blogspot CATATAN SI MERAH SILU ya. That's all...
