Close to the mouth of the river Linggi lies a hill, Bukit Supai with an olden construction available...

Pergi lebih dekat dan kelihatanlah bekas sebuah kota lama...

Oh. Bangunan terbengkalai di bawah adalah sebahagian dari kompleks pelancongan yang dicadangkan untuk menaikkan kota yang turut dikenali sebagai Fort Supai, kota Bukit Supai tetapi nampaknya tidak menjadi. Sekian.

Oh. The abandoned building below is part of the tourism complex suggested to popularise this fort also known as Fort Supai because of the name of the hill but it seems the project did not proceed all that well. That's all.

OK. This time I want to feature a mosque which is no less special, the main mosque of Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah I...

Untuk makluman, di sini terdapat satu-satunya makam Sultan Melaka yang masih wujud di Malaysia, Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah yang memerintah 1477-1488 Masihi. Nama baginda dicatat sebagai Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah I kerana memiliki cucu bernama serupa, dikenali sebagai Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah II yang menjadi pemerintah empayar Johor-Riau-Lingga...

For information, herein lies the one and only existing tomb of a Sultan of Melaka in Malaysia, Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah who ruled 1477-1488 AD. His name is written as Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah I because he had a grandchildren with the same name, known as Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah II who became ruler of the Johor-Riau-Lingga empire...

Walaupun masjid di sebelah makam adalah sebuah masjid moden yang dibina tahun 1960an kalau tak salah ingatan, ia juga cukup istimewa.

Although the mosque besides the tomb is a modern mosque built in the 1960s if I'm not mistaken, it is also special enough.

Kelihatan ia serupa dengan mana-mana masjid moden biasa. Tetapi tahukah anda masjid ini dibina atas tapak istana Sultan Alauddin?

It looks similar to any common modern mosque. But do you know that the mosque was built on top the site of Sultan Alauddin's palace?

p/s: Nasib baik saya telah mengambil gambar-gambar ini dalam satu lawatan bulan Ogos. Walaupun saya telah banyak kali pergi ke sini, rupa-rupanya saya tidak pernah membuat apa-apa cerita khusus tentang masjid dan makam ini di blogspot ini. Yang ada cuma sedikit penerangan yang ada dalam artikel Gambar-gambar di Muar (pictures in Muar) yang dibuat Januari 2007 .

Luckily I took these pictures in a visit in August. Although I've been here many times, as it turned out I have never made any dedicated story about this mosque and tomb in this blogspot.
