Ini pula adalah buku ke-empat dan terbaru saya, bertajuk "Rumah Azan". Diterbitkan April 2009 oleh syarikat Karnadya dengan pertolongan Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, buku ini memaparkan gambar-gambar cantik berserta cerita di sebalik masjid-masjid terpilih yang boleh dikaitkan dengan sejarah Melayu Islam dan pembentukan negara Malaysia.

This is my fourth and latest book, titled "Rumah Azan". Published in April 2009 by the company Karnadya with the help of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, this book features beautiful pictures along with stories behind selected mosque which could be related to the history of Islam and the Malays and the formation of the nation of Malaysia.

Masjid (Mosque of) Al-Muttaqin, Kuala Linggi...

Dalam satu perjalanan ke Kota Kuala Linggi berhampiran sempadan Melaka-Negeri Sembilan, saya singgah ke masjid ini, Masjid Al-Muttaqin...

In a journey to the fort of Kuala Linggi nearby the border of Melaka-Negeri Sembilan, I made a stop at this mosque, the mosque of Al-Muttaqin...

Sebenarnya saya singgah sebentar untuk mengambil wudhuk...
Actually I stopped for a little while to make abolution...

Alang-alang dah masuk ke dalam, saya pun mula mengambil gambar...

Since I am already inside, I might as well take pictures...

Oleh kerana ramai telah bertanya atau meminta tolong agar dapat dipaparkan gambar atau maklumat tentang tempat-tempat tertentu maka eloklah diberitahu, di sini juga di blogspot CATATAN SI MERAH SILU dan BERPETUALANG KE ACEH ada terdapat maklumat yang berkaitan. Masjid Brunei di (Brunei Mosque at ) Danau Tok Uban!

Berapa ramai orang yang tahu di Kelantan terdapat sebuah masjid cantik yang dibina oleh Sultan Brunei... Malah rakyat Kelantan pun tak ramai yang tahu tentang kewujudan masjid yang terletak di satu tempat yang agak terpencil ini. Soalnya, kenapa Sultan Brunei sanggup membina masjid sebegitu indah di satu kawasan yang tidak diketahui ramai? (How many people know in Kelantan there exist a beautiful mosque built by the Sultan of Brunei... In fact very few Kelantan locals even know about the existence of the mosque in some backwater place. The question is, why did the Sultan of Brunei built such a beautiful mosque at a place not many people know?)

Walaupun blogspot ini asalnya didirikan untuk mengenengahkan perkara-perkara berkaitan senibina Melayu lama terutama yang terdapat pada rumah-rumah lama, penulis mendapati banyak lagi perkara menarik yang boleh dikongsi sama... Tempat atau bangunan yang ada ciri-ciri seninya yang tersendiri, yang ditemui ketika keluar mengembara ke sana-sini. Di sini ada beberapa contoh. Although this blogspot was originally built to feature things regarding olden Malay architecture especially that on old houses, this scribe found out that there's many other things to be shared... Menara Condong (leaning tower of) Teluk Intan

Saya percaya ramai rakyat Malaysia kenal menara condong di Teluk Intan di Perak ini tetapi berapa ramai yang tahu ia sebenarnya adalah menara tangki air? Berapa ramai pula pernah melihat tangki itu di dalamnya? (I believe many Malaysian citizens know this leaning tower in Teluk Intan, Perak but how many know it is actually a water tank tower? How many in turn have seen the tank inside?)

Perigi (well of) Hang Tuah, Masjid (mosque of) Duyung serta (and) Kampung Hulu

Apa yang istimewa tentang perigi Hang Tuah? Kenapa orang suka mengambil air perigi ini untuk dibuat ubat? Apa kena-mengena pula dengan Masjid Duyung yang berdekatan juga Masjid Kampung Hulu di tengah bandaraya Melaka? (What is so special about the well of Hang Tuah? Why do people like to use its water as medicine? What's all this to do with the mosque of Duyung nearby and the mosque of Kampung Hulu in the middle of the city of Melaka?)

Entah kenapa, saya tertarik dengan senibina Melayu di kawasan tertentu di mana terdapat ukiran seperti lidah terjulur keluar daripada setiap sudut bumbung rumah ataupun masjid. Ternyata binaan sebegini banyak terdapat di Perak. Lihatlah! (For whatever reason, I'm attracted to the Malay architecture of certain areas where there' tounge-like carvings jutting out from each corner of the roofs of houses or mosque. It is apparent there's many such buildings in Perak. Have a look!)
