Bentuk kepala cicak pada Masjid Jamiul Ehsan (The lizard head shape at Jamiul Ehsan mosque)

At the street of Jalan Pahang approaching the roundabout could be seen this two mosques...

The signage available shows its name as Masjid (mosque of) Jamiul Ehsan.

Kita lihat dahulu masjid di hadapan...
We have a look first and the mosque in front...

Ia dibina pada tahun 1933.
It was built in the year 1933.

Nampak tak sesuatu yang unik tentang rekabentuknya?
Can you see something which is unique about its design?

Look at the carvings at the corners of the roof which is called the lizard head motiff. Normally such carvings could only be found at some buildings in Perak, Kedah and Pulau Pinang. As far as I know there is no other mosque in Lembah Klang having such carvings. Is there a story behind it?

Masjid belakang juga bernama Jamiul Ehsan.
The mosque behind is also called Jamiul Ehsan.

Actually it was built a few years ago to replace the old mosque in front.

This old mosque in turn was almost brought now. Luckily there was pressure from the local populace to preserve it as a heritage building.
