Masjid Raya (Main mosque of) At Taqwa, Cirebon

Di tengah bandar Cirebon pula terdapat masjid bernama Masjid Raya At Taqwa.
At the centre of the town of Cirebon in turn lies a mosque called Masjid Raya (main mosque of) At Taqwa.

Rekabentuknya begitu terserlah sehingga saya terasa mesti melihat lebih dekat...
Its design is so outstanding that I feel I must have a closer look...

Dewan solat.

Masjid (Mosque of) Sunan Gunung Jati

Upon going down from the tomb we immediately entered this building.

It is the mosque which is situated besides the tomb area.

This mosque is separated from the tomb by a long wall.

Its left, right and rear in turn are full of houses of the local populace.

And thus it was hard for me to take pictures of the mosque from outside what more at night.

Cukuplah kita melihat keadaan di dalam.
So enough that we see the condition inside.

Makam (Tomb of) Sunan Gunung Jati

From Pekalongan we went to the town of Cirebon about 140 km to the west. Reached the tomb of Sunan Gunung Jati 5 km north of town at night.

Sunan Gunung Jati or his real name Sharif Hidayatullah is the one and only Wali Songo (nine famous saints of Jawa) who stayed and passed away in West Jawa.

After visiting the tombs of 5 Wali Songo in East Jawa and 3 in Central Jawa the tomb of Sunan Gunung Jati is the last one we visited among the Wali Songo.

Like at the tombs of other Wali Songo visitors have to pass through a number of layers to get to the main tomb.

Still visitors are only allowed to go up to this door. While there are still 8 layers of doors up to the summit of a hill to get to the building containing the tomb of Sunan Gunung Jati.

Nasib baik saya, isteri dan anak-anak kemudian dibenarkan naik mengikut jalan belakang...
Luckily me, the wife and kids were later allowed to go up by a rear path...

Dapatlah kami sampai ke bangunan utama makam. Cukuplah.
So we got to reach the main tomb building. This should be enough.

Masjid Agung (Great mosque of) Pekalongan

Kembali ke perjalanan Pulau Jawa 1-14 Mei 2012.
Returning to the Jawa island trip 1-14 May 2012.

Sabtu 5 Mei, selepas bermalam di sebuah hotel di pusat bandar saya membawa anak pergi melihat Masjid Agung Pekalongan.
Saturday 5th May, after spending the night at a hotel at the town centre I brought the son to look at the Masjid Agung (great mosque of) Pekalongan.

Pekalongan bukanlah sebuah bandar besar.
Pekalongan is not a big town.

Namun masjidnya megah seperti milik sebuah bandar raya.
Still its mosque looks proud as if belonging to a city.

Mari kita lihat lebih dekat.
Let us have a closer look.

If not mistaken this mosque is more than 200 years old.

Masjid (Mosque of) Lentang, Pahang

On the way back to Kuala Lumpur through the Karak highway we stopped by at this mosque.

Terletak berdekatan hutan lipur Lentang, suasana di sekitarnya nyaman.
Situated near the Lentang recreational forest, the condition of its surrounding is cozy.
