Cuma saya ada terbaca kisah dua orang putera raja adik-beradik terjumpa serumpun pokok buluh lalu si adik bertanya kepada abang "Buluh apakah ini?" Jawab abang : "Buluh apa dik". Adik bertanya lagi soalan, sama sahaja jawabannya. Begitu juga apabila ditanya lagi berkali.

Adik itu menyangkakan abangnya mempermain-mainkannya lalu menikam abangnya. Akibatnya abang itu meninggal dunia, Setelah beberapa lama baru dia menyedari bahawa buluh itu memang bernama "Buluh Apa". Apapun ada yang percaya inilah makam si abang dalam cerita. Dan sebab itulah wilayah sekeliling ini dahulu dikenali sebagai Tanah Abang.
The younger brother thought the elder one is making a fool of him and thus stabbed his brother. Because of that the elder brother passed away. After some time only did he realised the bamboo is indeed named "Buluh Apa".Whatever there are those who believed this is the tomb of the elder brother. And because of that the area around was once known as Tanah (land of) Abang (the elder brother).
