Pergi pada hari kelima perjalanan baru ke selatan Thailand.

On to the fifth day of the new southern Thailand trip.

Sabtu 28 Jun 2025. Dari Songkhla kami ke Hatyai kemudian ke Padang Besar, Thailand lalu masuk kembali ke Padang Besar, Malaysia di mana terdapat masjid ini.

Saturday 28th June 2025. From Songkhla we went to Hatyai then Padang Besar, Thailand and then entered back Padang Besar, Malaysia where lies this mosque.

Namanya Masjid Ahmad.

Its name is Masjid (mosque of) Ahmad.

Akhir sekali kami menaiki Bukit Tang Kuan di bandar raya Songkhla. Tengok-tengok ada meriam ini.

Inilah masjid terbesar di seluruh wilayah Songkhla, wilayah yang meliputi daerah juga bandar raya Hatyai selain bandar Songkhla yang merupakan ibu negeri.

This is it the biggest mosque in the whole region of Songkhla, a region which includes the district and also city of Hatyai apart from the city of Songkhla which is the state capital.

Saya pertama kali sampai lebih 2 tahun. Lihat Masjid pusat (Central mosque of) Songkhla, Hatyai.

Kemudian singgah lagi lebih 2 bulan lalu.

Later visited again more than 2 months ago.

Kali ini datang untuk menunaikan solat Jumaat sekali.

This time came also to conduct Jumaat prayers.

 

Makam (Tomb of) Sheikhul Islam Thailand, Songkhla

Selepas tengah hari kami dibawa ke makam seorang tokoh yang baru meninggal dunia kurang 2 tahun lalu.

After noon we were brought to the tomb of a personality who only passed away less than 2 years ago.

Tokoh tersebut adalah Sheikhul Islam Thailand, Aziz Phitakkumpon.

The personality was Sheikhul Islam (the highest Muslim authority of) Thailand, Aziz Phitakkumpon.

Beliau yang meninggal dunia pada usia 76 tahun berasal dari Hatyai lalu menjadi kebanggaan warga tempatan.

He who passed away at the age of 76 years originated from Hatyai and thus is the pride of the locals.

Buat masa ini makamnya adalah satu-satunya yang terdapat di perkarangan masjid terbesar dalam wilayah Songkhla yang bertaraf negeri.

At this moment his tomb is the only one available in the grounds of the biggest mosque in the region of Songkhla which has the status of a state.
