In here also one could still see the aftermath of the tsunami which ravaged Aceh 26 Disember 2004. I am not sure which one is said to be the actual tomb of Tuan di Kandang or what is his real name. But looking at this tomb building which is cemented and stands out, maybe this is it?

Sekian...

Makam dan masjid (Tomb and mosque of) Teungku di Anjung

Assalamualaikum semua. Setelah sebulan beralih topik, mari kita sambung balik cerita tentang tempat-tempat di Aceh ya...
Peace be upon you all. After a month changing topic, let us resume back to the stories of places in Aceh ya...

From the tomb of Syiah Kuala (look at Makam (tomb of) Syiah Kuala ) we move on the northern fringes of Banda Aceh where there exist this building...

Maklumat yang ada menyebutnya sebagai Masjid Teungku Di Anjong. Tetapi biar saya gunakan ejaan Anjung ya kerana saya rasa ia lebih sesuai...
The information available mentioned it as the mosque of Teungku di Anjong. But let me use the spelling Anjung instead ya as I feel it is more suitable...

Sebenarnya masjidnya adalah bangunan di kanan ini. Ketika saya sampai pertengahan Jun, ia sedang diperbaiki...
Actually the mosque is the building on the right here. When I arrived middle of June, it was still under repair and renovation...

Thus let us have a look at this building only...

Ia sebenarnya bangunan makam...
It is actually a mausoleum or tomb building...

Mari masuk ke dalam...
Let us go inside...

This is the tomb of the major religious master known as Teungku di Anjung. His real name is Sayyid Abu Bakar bin Hussin Bafaqih or Bilfaqih. Although the writings available said he built the mosque here in the 18th century AD, he is believed to have arrived in Aceh from Arabia far more earlier than that, that is around the middle of the 17th century.

If I am not mistaken, this tomb, on the right of the tomb of Teungku di Anjung is the tomb of his wife. Look at its elaborate and beautiful carvings!

On the walls of the building there exist a genealogical chart of Teungku di Anjung who is connected to Prophet Muhammad SAW.

If I am not mistaken, these are poetic verses praising the Prophet...

Next there is an old well besides the tomb building...

The halamannya pula terdapat sebuah tanah perkuburan yang mengandungi makam ramai para Sayyid berketurunan Nabi...
On the lawns in front there exist a cemetery containing the tombs of many Sayyids from the descendants of the Prophet...

Kawasan ini terasa cukup tenang. Sebagai peringatan, surau ini terletak bersebelahan makam seorang wali besar bernama Sultanul Ariffin Sheikh Ismail. Lihat artikel lama Sedikit mengenai (A bit about) Pulau Besar, Melaka... . Sekian...

On 26th July, I went around the area of Semabok in Melaka and saw this tomb...

Bangunan makamnya kelihatan sangat terserlah...
The tomb building looks like it stands out very much...

Batu nesannya pula berbalut kain kuning. Biasanya ini menandakan pemiliknya adalah keturunan raja.
The tombstone is wrapped in yellow clothing. Normally this is to signify that the owner is of royal descend.
