Semasa saya kembali bercuti di kampung sebelah ibu, Kampung Temiang di Muar, Johor seorang sepupu membawa saya untuk melihat kubur lama ini...

When I went back for holiday at my mother's side native village, Kampung (village of) Temiang in Muar, Johor a cousin of mine brought me to see this old tomb...

Sepupu itu mahu saya memastikan yang batu nesan yang ada adalah daripada bentuk batu nesan Aceh. Ya, ia memang batu nesan Aceh. Ini boleh dilihat daripada bentuk ukirannya yang unik serta jenis batu asas yang digunakan. Cuma nampaknya bahagian atasnya telah patah dan hilang...

That cousin wanted me to confirm that the tombstones are of the type known as Aceh gravestones or tombstone. Yes, it is indeed Aceh tombstones. This could be seen from the its unique sculpting and the basic type of stone used. It's just that it looks like its upper sections have been broken and lost...

Sambil-sambil itu saya melihat keadaan sekeliling...
At the same time I observed the surroundings...

Sepupu saya ada memberitahu cerita tempatan tentang pemilik makam. Sayangnya saya sudah lupa. Dan sudah sekian lama pula baru saya tergerak untuk meletakkan gambar-gambar ini di sini.

My cousin did told me the local story regarding the owner of this tomb. Too bad I've forgotten. And after such a long time only do I feel and took the steps to put these pictures here.

Saya cuma ingat pemiliknya ada seorang yang dianggap keramat, mungkin seorang ulamak. Selain itu saya ingat sepupu saya memberitahu kapal orang ini pernah karam di perairan Muar. Tetapi beliau diselamatkan lalu dibawa ke daratan oleh sekumpulan ikan!.
I could only remember that the owner was a person considers to have magical powers, perhaps a religious scholar. Besides that I remember my cousin saying that this man's ship once capsized off the waters in Muar. But he was saved and brought to land by a school of fish!

Di situ juga terdapat sebuah lagi makam dengan batu serupa tetapi lebih kecil. Saya cuma boleh memberitahu makam-makam ini terletak di dalam kawasan kebun di belakang sebuah rumah berdekatan Simpang Baba, tidak jauh dari Kampung Temiang.
There one could also find another tomb with similar tombstones but of smaller size. I could only say that the tombs are located in an orchard behind a house near Simpang Baba, not far from Kampung Temiang.

Sebelum itu saya menyangkakan batu nesan Aceh paling dekat dengan bandar Muar cuma boleh ditemui di Kota Buruk, kira-kira 10 km lebih jauh dari lokasi ini. Lihat artikel lama Kota Buruk (the ruined fort) in Muar... yang dibuat di blogspot BERPETUALANG KE ACEH penghujung 2007. Jika di Simpang Baba ada makam seperti ini, maka tak mustahil terdapat banyak lagi makam lama berbatu nesan Aceh yang tidak diketahui ramai di sekitar.
Before that I thought that the Aceh gravestones closest to the town of Muar could only be found at Kota Buruk, some 10 km further from this site. Look at the old article Kota Buruk (the ruined fort) in Muar... made in the blogspot BERPETUALANG KE ACEH at the end of 2007. If at Simpang Baba there exist such tombs, then it is not impossible that there are many more old tombs wth Aceh tombstones which are not known by the public around.

Kaitan Aceh-Perak? (The Aceh-Perak connection?)

Assalamualaikum semua. Sukacita dimaklumkan bahawa semalam saya baru kembali ke Aceh dalam perjalanan terbaru yang dimulakan Rabu lalu. Adapun pada bulan Januari saya juga telah ke Aceh sebelum kembali 1 Februari. Lalu sejumlah gambar telahpun disediakan untuk artikel akan datang di blogspot ini. Namun ia belum disajikan kerana siri penceritaan berkaitan belum lagi dimulakan di blogspot utama saya iaitu CATATAN SI MERAH SILU.

Peace be upon you all. It is a pleasure to inform that last night I just came back from Aceh in the latest trip which was started last Wednesday. As it is in January I have also went to Aceh before returning here on 1st of February. Thus a number of pictures have been prepared for future articles in this blogspot. Still it has not been served as the related series of story-telling has not been started in my main blogspot which is CATATAN SI MERAH SILU.

Oleh kerana dalam tempoh 2 bulan saya sudah 2 kali ke Aceh sedangkan saya tidak menyediakan bahan-bahan lain untuk dijadikan cerita, elok juga cerita-cerita terbaru tentang tempat-tempat di Aceh disajikan secepat mungkin. Lagipun sukacita juga dimaklumkan dalam perjalanan terbaru ke Aceh yang tamat semalam barulah saya dapat menemukan bentuk ukiran tradisional yang dapat menyokong keyakinan saya bahawa bentuk rumah lama di Perak yang boleh dilihat dalam artikel seperti Bangunan-bangunan klasik Perak (Perak classic buildings) memang berasal dari Aceh. Since in the period of 2 months I have been to Aceh 2 times while I have not prepared any other material to be turned into stories, it is good if the latest stories about places in Aceh are served as soon as possible. Besides it is a pleasure to inform that it was only in the latest trip to Aceh which was ended yesterday that I managed to find the kind of traditional carving which could support my conviction that the shape of old houses in Perak as could be seen in articles like Bangunan-bangunan klasik Perak (Perak classic buildings) indeed originated from Aceh. Compare it to the picture above...

Tetapi bulan ini juga saya perlu menyelesaikan beberapa perkara. Selain itu ada kemungkinan besar saya akan pergi ke suatu lokasi tertentu di luar negara sehingga 2 minggu. Maka itu jika tiada aral melintang akan saya siarkan cerita-cerita terbaru tentang Aceh tidak lama lagi. Kalau tidak saya harus menunggu sehingga bulan depan, mungkin seiring dengan penceritaan di CATATAN SI MERAH SILU, Insyaallah.

But it is in this month also that I have to settle a number of things. Besides that there is a big possibility that I would go to a certain location abroad for up to 2 weeks. Thus if there are no obstruction I would publish the latest stories about Aceh soon. If not I would have to wait until next month, maybe in line with the story-telling in CATATAN SI MERAH SILU, God willing.
