Assalamualaikum semua. Mari... :]
Peace be upon you all. We continue the storytelling on places visited on the Medan to Banda Aceh journey which was made 2-13 November 2011. Come... :]
Ahad 6 November 2011 bersamaan 10 Zulhijjah 1432 Hijrah iaitu Hari Raya Aidil Adha. Ketika berehat di hadapan luar Masjid Raya Al-Mashun di Medan saya terlihat tanah perkuburan di sebelah.
Sunday 6th November 2011 corresponding to 10 Zulhijjah 1432 Hijriah (the Muslim calendar) which is the festive day of Aidil Adha. While taking a rest in front outside the Masjid Raya (main mosque of) Al-Mashun in Medan I saw the burial ground besides.
I was moved to have a closer look.
Then was surprised on the names and places inscribed. For example the initial name Chut and place Samalanga.
Initial name Teuku. It is a title for the male nobilities of Aceh, Chut for the female.
Tgk. which is a short form for Tengku, maybe even Teungku. In most places including Medan, Tengku is a title for royalty while in Aceh Teungku refers to religious masters. But still there's Keumala written which is related to a branch of the Aceh royal family.
Here there's Teuku and also Cut (one more spelling for Chut).
Here in turn the short form T. might refer to Teuku, maybe also Tengku if not Teungku. Still its location are within the cluster of tombs which looks like it is related to Aceh.
