Makam (Tomb of) Harun Al-Rasyid, Kuala Lumpur

Bersambung dari Masjid (Mosque of) Sultan Hisamuddin, Batu 14, Hulu Langat .

From Hulu Langat I went to the city of Kuala Lumpur via the hill road to Ampang. Continued from Masjid (Mosque of) Sultan Hisamuddin, Batu 14, Hulu Langat .

At one part close to the centre could be seen this tomb building.

The signboard available says it is the tomb of Datuk Harun Rasyid (I prefer the spelling Rasyid compared to Rashid) and his wife Zubaidah.

Mari lihat ke dalam.
Come let us have a look inside.

I was immediately attracted by the tombstones available.

The made of this one is very clear although it has been painted white. It is of the type which is called Aceh tombstones. For information this is the first time I saw such a tombstone in Kuala Lumpur. According to one study it is a type of product of the years 1700-1800 AD. Maybe this tomb has existed earlier before this tombstone was put up. What is sure it has been here before the official history of Kuala Lumpur started 1880s.

Ini pula adalah Masjid Sultan Hisamuddin di pekan Batu 14, Hulu Langat.

This in turn is the Sultan Hisamuddin mosque at the small town of Batu 14 (literarilly the 14th mile), Hulu Langat.

Menaranya kelihatan seperti menara trafik di lapangan kapal terbang.

Its tower looks like the traffic tower of an airport.

Mari lihat lebih dekat.

Masjid (Mosque of) Raja Muda Musa, Semenyih

This weekend in turn I visited the mosque of Raja Muda Musa in Semenyih, Selangor.

Although I have passed by in front of it tens of times, maybe more than hundred times, I can't remember if I have ever entered inside it before this.

Mari lihat ke dalam.
