Makam (Tomb of) Ompu Raja Rosuhul Sihaloho

Bersambung dari Kerusi-kerusi batu (Stone chairs of) Huta Siallagan.
Continued from Kerusi-kerusi batu (Stone chairs of) Huta Siallagan.

From Huta Siallagan we moved on further to the north of Samosir island and caught sight of this building.

It is the tomb of a man called Ompu Raja Rosuhul Sihaloho.

Looks like he was the king for the area around here.

Di belakang terdapat beberapa lagi makam, katanya milik anak cucunya.
At the rear there are a number of other tombs, said to belong to his descendants.

Kerusi-kerusi batu (Stone chairs of) Huta Siallagan

Bersambung dari Muzium (Museum of) Huta Siallagan.
Continued from Muzium (Museum of) Huta Siallagan.

At the centre lawn of Huta Siallagan could be seen this big tree.

It is said to have magical properties which is related to the fate of the local populace.

Di sebelahnya ada kerusi-kerusi batu.
Next to it are stone chairs.

It is the place for the king and his officials to hold meetings to decide on important matters including judging and sentencing or punishing offenders.

Convicted persons were locked up in the enclosure in front before being sentenced.

Heavy offenders who were passed with a death sentence were brought to another section.

Here, in front of the his officials they would be cruelly tortured before being beheaded and then the body would be cut into little piece before it is turned into a meal for the king!

Seterusnya kami pergi ke satu tempat bernama Huta Siallagan yang terletak berdekatan pekan Ambarita.
Next we went to a place called Huta Siallagan which is situated close to the small town of Ambarita.

It is a settlement where the local king used to stay.

Salah satu rumah dijadikan muzium.
One of the houses is turned into a museum.

Masjid (Mosque of) Al-Ikhlas, Tuk-tuk, Pulau (Island of) Samosir

Bersambung dari Istana Raja Batak Simalungun di Permatang Purba (The Batak Simalungun king's palace at Permatang Purba).

Terlihat papan tanda masjid...
The journey brought us to enter the island of Samosir situated in the middle of Danau (lake) Toba. Friday morning 4th November 2011 after having enough sleep at a resort in the island's main town which is Tuk-tuk we started going out to see the island. Caught sight of a mosque sign board.

Still the mosque could not be seen from the roadside. We have to walk behind this building.

Setelah melalui jalan sempit melepasi 2-3 rumah baru nampak masjid.
After going through a narrow path pass 2-3 house then only one could see the mosque.

Bangunannya ringkas.
Its building is simple. Enough to meet the needs of the small number of adherents of the Muslim faith of which the majority are workers at the resorts in Samosir island.

For information the island of Samosir is almost the same size as the island of Singapore. Its population are almost all Christians and this is the only mosque available.
