Continued from Masjid Turki di Bitai (The Turkish mosque in Bitai).

Besides the mosque there is an open area.

There's a signage mentioning it as the tomb of Tengku di Bitay (also spelt Bitai).

This signage in turn says this is the graveyard for Ottoman kingdom commanders, soldiers and their descendants.

For information the Ottoman kingdom was a big empire of world class which used to be centred in Turkey.

It used to be the centre of rule for the Islamic caliphate from the early 16th century AD till the early 20th century.

Relationship with Aceh is said to have been cemented since Sultan Salahuddin ruled Aceh (there are those who said 1528-1537, others said 1530-1539).

Since then soldiers from Turkey have been sent to help Aceh deal with Western colonisation in South East Asia. They were centred in Bitai and when they died were laid to rest here.

Most outstanding is this tomb building.

Looks like it houses the bodies of the commanders and leaders of the Turkish community.

Assalamualaikum,, sekali lihat,, semacam bendera terengganu pd nesan pejuang Turki tersebut,, salam
