Selepas meninggalkan Pulau Madura untuk kembali ke Pulau Jawa kami pergi ke bandar Gresik untuk menziarahi makam Maulana Malik Ibrahim.

After leaving the island of Madura to return to Jawa island we went to the town of Gresik to visit the tomb of Maulana Malik Ibrahim.

Turut dikenali sebagai Sunan Gresik beliau adalah ahli Wali Songo yang paling tua.

Also known as Sunan Gresik he is the oldest member of Wali Songo (the nine saints of Jawa).

Maulana Malik Ibrahim telah berdakwah di Pulau Jawa sebelum abad ke 15 Masihi lagi.

Maulana Malik Ibrahim has started preaching in the island of Jawa since before the 15th century.

Beliau meninggal dunia tahun 1419, ketika Sunan Ampel yang bakal memimpin gerakan Wali Songo baru berumur 18 tahun. Lihat Makam (Tomb of) Sunan Ampel.

Ada yang menyebut Sunan Ampel adalah anak Maulana Malik Ibrahim. Pendapat yang lebih dipercayai pula menyebut memang bapa Sunan Ampel bernama Ibrahim tetapi beliau adalah Ibrahim Asmaraqandi yang makamnya terletak di tempat lain.

There are those who say Sunan Ampel is a son of Maulana Malik Ibrahim. But a more believable opinion says the father of Sunan Ampel was indeed named Ibrahim but he is Ibrahim Asmaraqandi whose tomb lies at a different place.

Yang pasti mereka memiliki hubungan kekeluargaan yang sangat rapat.

What is sure they have a very close family relationship.
