Dari Tanjung Sedili kami ke pekan Sedili Besar dan sampai waktu malam. Singgah di masjid jameknya.

Baru tahu namanya adalah Masjid jamek Al Muttaqin.

Cuma di sini saya harus membuat pembetulan. Setahu saya Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah yang disebut tidak pernah menakluki Aru dan Aceh. Sebaliknya apa yang berlaku adalah Aru yang terletak di selatan Aceh memilih untuk bernaung di bawah Johor lalu diserang Aceh.

It's just here I must make corrections. As fas as I know the Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah mentioned here has never conquered Aru and Aceh. On the contrary what happened was Aru which was located south of Aceh wanted to be under Johor patronage and thus was attacked by Aceh.

Aceh bukan sahaja menang malah kemudian menyerang Johor. Johor bukan sahaja kalah, pemerintahnya Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah ditawan ke Aceh dan dihukum bunuh!

Aceh not only won but afterwards attacked Johor. Johor not only lost, its ruler Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah was captured to Aceh and given the death sentence!

Di bahagian lain tapak kota kelihatan bangunan sedikit lebih besar.

At another part of the fort site could be a seen a slightly bigger building.

Ia menempatkan beberapa buah makam. Tetapi peliknya ia dikenali sebagai Makam 2.

It houses a number of tombs. But strangely it is known as Makam 2 (the 2 tombs).

Mungkin yang dimaksudkan Makam 2 adalah 2 kelompok makam?

Maybe what is meant by Makam 2 is 2 clusters of tombs?

Di tapak Kota Sayong juga terdapat bangunan kecil ini.

Within the site of Kota (fort of) Sayong also lies this small building.

Dalamnya terdapat sebuah makam yang terpisah jauh dari yang lain.

Inside it there exists a tomb which is separated far from the others.

Maka itu ia dikenali sebagai Makam 1.

Thus it is known as Makam 1 (the 1 tomb).

Kawasan ini adalah tapak sebuah kota lama yang wujud hampir 500 tahun lalu.

This area is the site of an old fort which have existed almost 500 years ago.

Namanya Kota Sayong.

Its name was Kota (fort of) Sayong.

Bangunan yang kelihatan menempatkan sejumlah makam lama.

The building seen houses a number of old tombs.

Ia dipanggil Makam 12. Tetapi saya dapat melihat lebih daripada 12 makam.

It is called Makam 12 (the 12 tombs). But I could see more than 12 tombs.

Seterusnya kami menghala kembali ke bandar Kota Tinggi lalu singgah di bangunan ini.

Next we headed back to the town of Kota Tinggi and stopped by this building.

Selamat datang ke Muzium Kota Tinggi. Oh. Sebelum ke Johor Lama kami sudah lalu di muzium ini tetapi tidak sempat singgah.

Welcome to the museum of Kota Tinggi. Oh. Before going to Johor Lama we have passed by this museum but didn't have time to to stop.

Seperti Muzium Johor Lama (lihat Muzium (Museum of) Johor Lama) ia juga memaparkan pameran berkenaan sejarah kerajaan Johor Lama. Untuk pengetahuan hampir semua pusat-pusat pemerintahan kerajaan ini terletak di dalam daerah Kota Tinggi.

Like the museum of Johor Lama (look at Muzium (Museum of) Johor Lama) it also shows exhibition on the history of the kingdom of Johor Lama. For information almost all the centres of rule of this kingdom is located within the district of Kota Tinggi.

Di perkarangan muzium terdapat himpunan berbagai jenis batu nesan Aceh.

At the compound of the museum there exist a collection of multiple types of Aceh tombstones.

Batu nesan Aceh sering digunakan untuk menandakan makam-makam kerabat diraja dan bangsawan Melayu dahulukala termasuk di Johor.

Aceh tombstones were often used to mark the tombs of Malay royalty and nobility of olden times including in Johor.

Koleksi yang saya percaya mencampurkan replika dengan batu asal ini menunjukkan apa yang telah ditemui di negeri Johor terutama dalam daerah Kota Tinggi.

This collection which I believe mixed replicas and original stones show what has been found in the state of Johor especially in the district of Kota Tinggi.
