Keraton (Palace of) Pakualaman

There exists one more keraton or palace in Jogjakarta.

Dipanggil Puro Pakualaman ia terletak sekitar 2-3 km daripada Keraton Jogja.
Called the Puro Pakualaman it is situated about 2-3 km from Keraton Jogja.

Pakualaman is a ruling branch originating from Jogja.

Under the current scheme the ruler of Pakualaman is vice to the ruler of Jogja.

Keraton (Palace of) Jogjakarta

From the mosque we walked to the Keraton or palace of Jogjakarta.

It is understood that part of this palace is opened to visitors.

Tetapi ia ditutup waktu malam.
But it is closed at night.

Cukuplah melihat dari luar...
So enough just looking from outside...

Masjid Raya (Main mosque of) Jogjakarta

Bersambung dari Candi (Temple of) Borobudur.
Continued from Candi (Temple of) Borobudur.

From Borobudur we went to the city of Jogjakarta and stopped by this mosque.

It is the main mosque of Jogjakarta. For information Jogja has the status of special district in Indonesia.

This is because of the position of the traditional rulers of Jogjakrata who are said to inherit the blood as descendants of the rulers the old kingdoms of Jawa island.

Masjid ini terletak berdekatan istana.
This mosque is situated nearby the palace.

Maka ia turut dinyatakan sebagai masjid diraja.
Thus it is also mentioned as the royal mosque.

From Kebumen we went to Borobudur which is very famous for its old temple, Candi (temple of Borobudur).

It is believed to have been built in the 8th century AD by rulers from the Sailendra Dynasty who were under the power of the old kingdom of Srivijaya.

Makam (Tomb of) Sheikh Abdul Kahfi al-Hassani

Kemudian kami dibawa ke makam  seorang ulamak besar bernama Sheikh Abdul Kahfi Al-Hassani.
Next we were brought to the tomb of a major master scholar named Sheikh Abdul Kahfi Al-Hassani.

Perkataan Al-Hassani pada nama menunjukkan beliau berketurunan Saidina Hassan, cucu sulung Nabi Muhammad SAW.
The words Al-Hassani in the name shows that he is descended from Saidina Hassan, the eldest grandchild of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

We were told he was the main saint in Kebumen and around it.

Later only we found out that Sheikh Abdul Kahfi is descended from Saidina Hassan through the line of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani in Baghdad, the major master scholar who is known as Sultanul Alwiya, kings of saints.

Lihat Makam (Tomb of) Sunan Ampel.
Coming to Kebumen from the Arab lands around 1475 AD, he has helped the Wali Songo (famous nine saints of Jawa) named Sunan Ampel carry out his mission in East Jawa. Look at Makam (Tomb of) Sunan Ampel.

Makam (Tomb of) Mbah Ireng, Kebumen

Pergi ke hari 12 perjalanan di Pulau Jawa...
Going to the 12th day of the trip to the island of Jawa...

Esoknya mereka menunjukkan kami satu makam berdekatan rumah mereka...
After Banyumas we went to Kebumen and spent the night at the house of a local. The next day they (he and wife) showed us a tomb near their house.

They said it belongs to a religious master from the Arab lands who was known as Mbah Ireng.

Mereka tidak pasti bilakah Mbah Ireng hidup.
They are not sure when did Mbah Ireng lived.

It's just they added it has to be in the period after Wali Songo (the nine famous saints of Jawa). If that is so then it has to be at the end of the 16th century or later.

Masjid Agung (Great mosque of) Nur Sulaiman, Banyumas

Next we went to the small town of Banyumas and stopped by at Masjid Agung (main mosque of) Nur Sulaiman.

Masjid ini dinyatakan sebagai satu cagar budaya...
The mosque is stated as a cultural heritage...

\
Kalau tak salah ingatan ia dibina abad ke 18 Masihi.
If I'm not mistaken it was built in the 18th century.

Namun hampir kesemua bangunan asalnya dikekalkan seperti dahulukala.
Still almost all of its original building was preserved as it was from olden times.
