Ke halaman utara masjid terdapat makam Abu Ayub al-Ansari, tokoh yang dikenali sebagai Eyup Sultan di Turkiye.

At the north compound of the mosque lies the tomb of Abu Ayub al-Ansari, the personality known as Eyup Sultan in Turkiye.

Bangunan makamnya dibina sebelum masjid, kedua-duanya pada tahun 1458. Makam ditemui selepas 8 abad tidak diketahui kedudukan.

The tomb building was built before the mosque, both in the year 1458. Tomb was found after 8 centuries not knowing its position.

Untuk pengetahuan, Abu Ayub adalah penduduk asal Madinah yang rumahnya dihuni Nabi Muhammad SAW selama 7 bulan selepas berhijrah dari Mekah. Ketika itulah Masjid Nabawi asal dibina, sekitar 40-50 metre sahaja dari rumah Abu Ayub.

For information, Abu Ayub was an original populace of Madinah whose house was inhabited by Prophet Muhammad for 7 months after migrating from Mecca. That was went the original Masjid Nabawi (the Prophet's Mosque), around only 40-50 metres from Abu Ayub.

Selepas masjid siap, bersama rumah Nabi yang bersambung dengannya, baru baginda berpindah.

After the mosque was completed, along with house of the Prophet connected to it, only then he moved out.

Abu Ayub tidak pernah ketinggalan berjuang dalam perang untuk Islam.

Abu Ayub never faltered from fighting in battles for Islam.

Beliau meninggal dunia pada tahun 674 Masihi akibat sakit ketika berumur lebih 80 tahun, semasa menyertai usaha pertama angkatan Islam untuk menawan kota Constantinople yang merupakan ibu kota kerajaan Rum Timur

He passed away in the year 674 AD out of sickness at the age of more than 80 years, while joining the first effort of Muslims to conquer the city of Constantinople which was capital for the kingdom of Eastern Rome.

Ini adalah selepas lebih 40 tahun Nabi Muhammad SAW wafat.

This was more than 40 years after Prophet Muhammad SAW passed away.

Disebabkan sejarah berkenaan inilah ramai menganggap ia adalah tempat paling suci di Turkiye. Masjidnya pula dianggap paling suci selepas Masjidil Haram di Mekah, Masjid Nabawi di Madinah dan Masjidil Aqsa di Baitul Maqdis.

Because of the relevant history many considered this as the most holy place in Turkiye. Its mosque in turn is considered most holy after Masjid Haram in Mecca, Masjid Nabawi in Medina and Masjidil Aqsa in Jerusalem.
