As it turns out this mosque is named after the 9th Undang (highest official) of the Luak (district of) Johol while the mosque at Kampung Pasit has the tomb of the 10th Undang of Johol...

Saya mengambil jalan Kuala Pilah-Tampin untuk ke Melaka saya ternampak masjid yang agak comel ini, Masjid Kampung Pasit...

While taking the Kuala Pilah- Tampin road to get to Melaka I saw this rather cute mosque, the mosque of Kampung Pasit...

Satu benda yang saya terus ternampak adalah bedok ini...
One thing that I immediately saw was this bedok, a type of drum...

Sesuai sungguh namanya "bedok panjang"... untuk pengetahuan bedok adalah alat tradisional yang digunakan untuk menandakan waktu bersolat juga majlis-majlis tertentu.

It is aptly named "bedok panjang" (the long drum or sorts)... for information, the bedok is a traditional instrument used to signal the time for prayers or certain functions.

Sebuah rumah 'Perak' di Negeri Sembilan (A 'Perak' house in Negeri Sembilan)

Dalam satu perjalanan di Negeri Sembilan hujung minggu lalu saya terlihat rumah ini...
In a travel in Negeri Sembilan the recent weekend I saw this house...

Senibinanya langsung tidak menyamai senibina tradisional Negeri Sembilan yang biasanya bermotifkan senibina Minangkabau dengan bumbung panjang melengkung.

Its architecture does not at all resemble the Negeri Sembilan traditional architecture which usually has the motifs of Minangkabau architecture with its long curved roofs.

Lihat bentuk seperti lidah tergantung pada hujung bumbung. Biasanya bentuk ini cuma terdapat pada rumah-rumah lama Perak juga di sebahagian Kedah. Adapun rumah ini terletak di Tanjung Ipoh dekat Kuala Pilah. Saya menemuinya ketika mahu melihat kawasan ulu Sungai Muar yang terletak di Negeri Sembilan berdekatan sini. Apakah ada kaitan?

Look at the tounge-like shape hanging down from the corners of the roof. Normally such shape could only be found at old houses in Perak and parts of Kedah. This house is situated at Tanjung Ipoh near Kuala Pilah. I found it while on the way to look for the most upriver parts of the Muar river which is in Negeri Sembilan around here. Is there any connection?

Masjid (mosque of) Kampung Kota, Sabak Bernam

Sebelum kembali dari Perak 19 Julai, saya sempat melawat masjid ini, Masjid Kampung Kota...

Just before I returned from Perak 19th July, I had the time to visit this mosque, the mosque of Kampung Kota...

Walaupun masjid ini sebenarnya terletak di dalam negeri Perak, kedudukannya cuma 300 meter gitu dari bandar Sabak Bernam yang terletak di dalam negeri Selangor.

Although the mosque is actually situated in the state of Perak, its position is just 300 metres or so from the town of Sabak Bernam which is situated inside the state of Selangor.

Untuk pengetahuan, Kampung Kota dan Sabak Bernam cuma dipisahkan oleh Sungai Bernam yang menjadi sempadan antara negeri.

For information, the village of Kampung Kota and Sabak Bernam are just separated by the river Bernam which marks the boundary between the states.

Oleh itu saya rasa lebih senang mengenalkan masjid ini sebagai Masjid Kampung Kota, Sabak Bernam. Itu sahaja. Selamat malam! :]

Thus that is why I feel it is easier to introduce this mosque as the mosque of Kampung Kota, Sabak Bernam. That's all. Good night! :]

Masjid (mosque of) Sungai Mangkuk, Kota Setia

Dalam perjalanan terbaru ke Perak 18-19 Julai saya juga pergi melihat masjid ini, Masjid Sungai Mangkuk di Kota Setia.

In my most recent trip to Perak 18-19th July I also went to have a look at this mosque, the mosque of Sungai Mangkuk at Kota Setia.

Kali pertama saya sampai di Kota Setia adalah lebih 2 tahun lalu di mana saya bermalam di masjid ini. Lawatan kali ini adalah lawatan kedua...

The first time I arrived at Kota Setia was more than 2 years ago where I spent the night at this mosque. The visit this time is my second one...

Selepas menziarahi masjid-masjid Marzukiyah seperti tertera pada artikel-artikel Masjid (mosque of) Marzukiyah, Lubuk Pusing, Sabak Bernam dan Masjid (mosque of ) Marzukiyah di (at) Jalan Sepintas... saya berjalan-jalan di sekitar Bagan Datoh, Perak sebelum pergi bersolat di sebuah masjid di Sungai Ular. Timbul rasa pula untuk mengambil gambar. Biar diletakkan gambar-gambar ini tanpa apa-apa penerangan tambahan ya...

After visiting the Marzukiyah mosques as shown in the articles Masjid (mosque of) Marzukiyah, Lubuk Pusing, Sabak Bernam and Masjid (mosque of ) Marzukiyah di (at) Jalan Sepintas... I then went around Bagan Datoh, Perak before conducting the prayers at the mosque in Sungai Ular. That's when I felt like snapping some pictures.
