Tertera nama Salmah yang berasal dari Deli, meninggal dunia sekitar 1920 namun lebih dikenali sebagai Mas Merah.
Inscribed is the name Salmah who orginated from Deli, passed away around 1920 but more well-known as Mas Merah.
Di kanan katanya adalah makam suaminya. Ada pula yang kata mereka tidak sempat menikah.
To the right is said to be her husband's tomb. Then there are those who said they didn't have the time to be wed.
Namanya Salam, berasal dari Sarawak.
His name is Salam, originated from Sarawak.
Walaupun ada dua makam di sini, ia secara umumnya dikenali sebagai makam Mas Merah sempena nama wanitanya. Menurut ceritanya, pasangan ini diserang satu penyakit lalu kedua-duanya meninggal dunia dalam jarak seminit dua. Seperti makam panjang, makam Mas Merah dianggap keramat oleh ramai.
Although there are two tombs here, it is generally known as makam (tomb of) Mas Merah after the woman. According to the stories, the coupled was attacked by a disease and both died within a minute or two of each other. Like the long tombs the tomb of Mas Merak is considered sacred by many.
