Tujuan utama kami mencari masjid lama Padang Tiji adalah untuk menziarahi sebuah makam di sebelahnya.

The main reason we looked for the old mosque of Padang Tiji was to pay a visit to a tomb besides it.

Ia milik seorang pembesar dan pahlawan Aceh bernama Tuanku Hashim Banta Muda.

It belongs to an official and warrior of Aceh named Tuanku Hashim Banta Muda.

Tuanku Hashim Banta Muda adalah seorang pemimpin utama Aceh ketika melawan Belanda... selepas penjajah Barat itu menceroboh Aceh tahun 1873. Beliau adalah dari keluarga Raja-raja Aceh Dinasti Bugis, dari keturunan Daeng Mansur. Rujuk kembali artikel Makam (Tomb of) Teungku Chik di Reubee Daeng Mansur.

Tuanku Hashim Banta Muda was a main leader of Aceh during the fight against the Dutch...after the Western colonialists invaded Aceh in the year 1873. He is from the family of the rulers of Aceh of the Bugis dynasty, from the descendants of Daeng Mansur. Refer again to the article Makam (Tomb of) Teungku Chik di Reubee Daeng Mansur.

Sampai sahaja ke pekan Padang Tiji kami terus mencari masjid lama ini.

Upon reaching the small town of Padang Tiji we immediately looked for this old mosque.

Nampaknya ia juga adalah masjid lama tetapi ditambah bahagian baru.

Looks like it is also an old mosque but was added with new sections.

Dari Reubee kami keluar ke jalan utama Sigli ke Banda Aceh lalu menuju ke Padang Tiji. Terlihat bangunan bernama Masjid Besar Raudhatur Rahman ini.

From Reubee we went out to the Sigli to Banda Aceh main road and headed for Padang Tiji. Saw this building called Masjid Besar (Big mosque of) Raudhatur Rahman.

Saya pun masuk ke dalam.

I then went inside.

Seterusnya kami ke Masjid Jamek Teungku Chik di Reubee yang terletak berdekatan.

Next we went to Masjid Jamek (main mosque of) Teungku Chik Di Reubee which is situated nearby.

Kelihatan ia adalah masjid lama yang telah ditambah bahagian baru.

Dari makam Daeng Mansur kami bergerak 1-2 km gitu ke makam puteri yang dikenali sebagai Putroe Sani.

From the tomb of Daeng Mansur we moved about 1-2 km or so to the tomb of his daughter which is known as Putroe Sani.

Putroe Sani turut dikenali sebagai Puteri Ratna Sendi Istana.

Putroe Sani was also known as Puteri Ratna Sendi Istana.

Maklumat kurang nampak di bahagian kepala makam menyebutnya sebagai Puteri Sendi Ratu Indra.

The hardly visible information on the head part of the tomb mentioned it as Puteri Sendi Ratu Indra.

Untuk makluman baginda adalah isteri pertama Sultan Iskandar Muda (memerintah Aceh 1607-1636). Tetapi rata-rata orang cuma tahu isteri kemudian Iskandar Muda, Puteri Kamaliah dari Pahang yang dikenali masyarakat Aceh sebagai Putroe Phang.

For information her majesty was the first wife of Sultan Iskandar Muda (ruled Aceh 1607-1636). But all in all people only know about the later wife of Iskandar Muda, Puteri Kamaliah from Pahang who is known by the Aceh community as Putroe Phang.

Seterusnya kami masuk lebih pendalaman ke kawasan bernama Reubee di mana terdapat bangunan makam ini

Next we went further inland to an area called Reubee where lies this tomb building.

Di dalamnya terdapat makam pendakwah bernama Daeng Mansur yang menjadi Teungku Chik (ulamak besar) di Reubee.

Inside it lies the tomb of a missionary called Daeng Mansur who became the Teungku Chik di Reubee (major religious master of Reubee).

Seperti Pakeh Seundri, beliau juga datang dari Tanah Bugis, dari satu tempat atau kerajaan yang dipanggil Wajo.

Like Pakeh Seundri, he also came from the Bugis lands, from a place or a kingdom called Wajo.

Beliau diketahui datang pertengahan abad ke 16 Masihi. Menariknya dari beliaulah muncul Raja-raja Aceh berketurunan Bugis. Lihat artikel lama Makam Raja-raja Dinasti Bugis (the tomb of kings from the Bugis dynasty).

Tidak jauh dari Masjid Poteu Meureuhom dan Masjid Labui terdapat makam ini.

Not far from Masjid (mosque of) Poteu Meureuhom and the Labui mosque there lies this tomb.

Ia milik orang yang dipanggil Pakeh Seundri, berasal dari Sidenring di Tanah Bugis tetapi berhijrah ke sini lalu menjadi kadhi Sultan Aceh bagi wilayah Pidie

It belongs to a person called Pakeh Seundri, originating from Sidenring in the Bugis lands (on the island of Celebes) who migrated here and became the kadhi (religious judge) of the Sultan of Aceh for the province of Pidie.

Dikatakan para ulebalang Pidie adalah anak cucu beliau. Oh. Ulebalang di Aceh bermaksud pemerintah atau raja daerah, lain maknanya dengan perkataan Melayu hulubalang yang bermakna pahlawan.

It is said that the ulebalangs of Pidie were his offsprings. Oh. Ulebalang in Aceh means ruler or king of a district, different in meaning from the Malay word hulubalang which means warrior.

Nampaknya ada kaum kerabat Pakeh Seundri dimakamkan di sini.

Looks like there are kith and kins of Pakeh Seundri who were laid to rest here.

Betul-betul di sebelah Masjid Labui terdapat masjid lama ini.

Exactly besides Masjid (mosque of) Labui there exists this old mosque.

Apa yang menarik perhatian saya adalah ukiran seperti lidah terjulur di sudut bumbung.

What caught my attention was the carvings like tounges hanging out at the corners of the roof.

Difahamkam masjid ini didirikan selepas Sultan Iskandar Muda yang memerintah Aceh 1607-1636 Masihi mangkat.

It is understood this mosque was built after Sultan Iskandar Muda who ruled Aceh 1607-1636 AD passed away.

Poteu Meureuhom yang bermakna marhum yang disanjung tinggi kalau tak salah merupakan satu panggilan hormat untuk baginda. Maka itu masjid ini dipanggil Masjid Poteu Meureuhom.

Poteu Meureuhom which means the deceased who was highly looked up upon if not mistaken is a call of respect for his majesty. Thus this mosque is called Masjid (mosque of) Poteu Meureuhom.

Dari Sigli kami masuk ke kawasan pendalaman yang dipanggil Labui untuk ke masjid ini.

From Sigli we went to an inland area which is called Labui to get to this mosque.

Walaupun masjid ini agak baru ia sebenarnya didirikan di atas tapak masjid lama yang wujud 400 tahun lalu.

Although this mosque is quiet new it was actually built on the site of an old mosque which existed 400 years ago.
