Jam 2 petang kami menaiki sebuah bukit untuk ke makam Sultan Hasanuddin.

At 2 o'clock in the afternoon we went up a hill to get to the tomb of Sultan Hasanuddin.

Baginda adalah raja paling terkenal dalam sejarah kerajaan Gowa, kerana kegigihannya berperang melawan penjajahan Belanda tahun 1660an.

His majesty is the most famous ruler in the history of the kingdom of Gowa, because of his perseverance in war fighting the colonisation of the Dutch in the years 1660s.

Makam Sultan Hasanuddin.

The tomb of Sultan Hasanuddin.

Pada batu nesannya terlukis lambang ayam jantan. Menurut ceritanya Belanda memanggil baginda "ayam jantan dari Timur" kerana keberaniannya dalam perlawanan.

At his tombstone is drawn the symbol of a rooster. According to the stories the Dutch called his majesty "the  rooster from the East" due to his courage in fighting.
