Galeri ini memaparkan sejarah kerajaan-kerajaan di dunia Melayu seawal zaman Empayar Funan 2,000 tahun lalu.

This gallery shows the histories of kingdoms in the Malay world from as early as the time of the Funan Empire 2,000 years ago.

Kemudian baru penekanan diberikan kepada Kesultanan Melaka. Nampaknya Muzium Negara masih meletakkan Melaka sebagai bermula sekitar 1400 Masihi, bukan 1262 M seperti disebut melalui kajian baru yang bermula sekitar tahun 2010.

Then  only stress is given to the Sultanate of Melaka. Looks like the National Museum still places Melaka as beginning around 1400 AD, not 1262 AD as mentioned via new research which was started around the year 2010.

Paling menarik perhatian saya adalah sebuah batu nesan Sultan Mansur Syah yang ditemui di Bukit St. Paul (dahulu dipanggil Bukit Melaka). 

What attracted my attention the most is a gravestone of Sultan Mansur Syah which was found at St. Paul Hill (formerly known as Melaka Hill).

Ia ditemui sudah tercabut. Lalu tidak dapat dipastkan di manakah letak sebenar makam.

It was found uprooted. And so the actual location of the tomb could not be ascertained.

Ini pula adalah replika singgahsana istana Perak.

This in turn is the replica of the throne of the Perak palace.

Dalam tempoh 3-4 tahun kebelakangan saya sudah banyak kali ke muzium untuk menghadiri majlis ilmu dan sebagainya. Tetapi kali terakhir saya masuk untuk melihat pameran di dalam bangunan utama adalah lebih 5 tahun lalu kalau tak salah.

In the recent 3-4 years I have been to the museum many times to attend lecture functions and such. But the last time I went to look at the exhibits inside the main building was more than 5 years ago if not mistaken.

Lobi utama muzium. Dahulu pengunjung masuk melalui pintu hadapan yang kelihatan dalam gambar. Kini kita harus masuk melalui pintu belakang, Mungkin disebabkan ada kerja-kerja pembinaan yang saya tak tahu untuk apa di luar pintu hadapan.

The museum's main lobby. Once upon a time visitors have to enter via the front door seen in the picture. Now we have to enter via the rear door. Maybe because of the construction works going on outside the front door which I don't know is for what.

Sekarang biarlah dilihat pameran bermula dengan Galeri A iaitu untuk sejarah awal Malaysia/Tanah Melayu.

Now let us look at the exhibits starting with Gallery A that is for early history of Malaysia/Tanah Melayu (the Malay lands).

Sejarah Lembah Bujang di Kedah adalah yang pertama ditekankan.

The history of Lembah Bujang in Kedah is the first to be stressed.

Ini meliputi zaman sekitar abad ke 4-5 Masihi.

This covers periods around the 4-5 century AD.

Turut dipaparkan budaya berkenaan  Gendang Dongson yang sudah muncul lebih awal.
Also shown are cultures regarding the Gendang (drum of) Dongson which have appeared earlier.

Masuk juga bab batu-batu Megalith seperti yang banyak terdapat di Negeri Sembilan.

Entering also chapters on Megalithic stones which are available in large numbers in (the state of) Negeri Sembilan.

Masuk zaman pra-sejarah juga zaman Asia Tenggara dipercayai sedang membentuk satu tanah besar sekitar 18,000 tahun lalu.

Entering the pre-historic period also the time when South-East Asia is believed to have formed a huge piece of land around 18,000 years ago.

Turut dipaparkan rupa muka bumi yang dipercayai saintis pernah terbentuk  sehingga lebih 200 juta tahun dahulu.

Also shown are the earth terrains which are believed by scientists to have been formed up to more than 200 million years ago.

Sabtu 16 April 2016. Saya dan isteri mahu membawa anak-anak berjalan-jalan ke Planetarium Negara. Terlihat simpang ke Tugu Negara. Tergerak untuk singgah dahulu ke situ,

Saturday 16th April 2016. Me and wife wanted to bring the kids for a trip at the National Planetarium. We saw the junction to the Tugu Negara (National Monument). Felt moved to make a stop there first.

Masuk sahaja kawasan kelihatan bangunan ini.

Upon entering the area could be seen this building.

Tetapi kami tidak berminat dengannya. Ini kerana ia secara rata ia dibina untuk mengenangkan askar-askar British yang terkorban semasa Perang Dunia Pertama dan Kedua, zaman Tanah Melayu masih dijajah oleh kuasa Barat itu.

But we are not interested in it. This is because on the whole it was built to commemorate the British soldiers who was killed during the First and Second World Wars, during a period when Tanah Melayu (the Malay lands) were colonised by that Western force.

Yang kami mahu lihat terletak sedikit lebih jauh ke dalam kawasan.

What we wanted to see is located a bit far inside the area.

Ia adalah bangunan yang dikenali umum sebagai Tugu Negara Malaysia.

It is the building known to the general public as the Tugu Negara (National Monument of) Malaysia.

Ia dibina untuk mengenangkan askar-askar Melayu yang terkorban menentang ancaman tentera Komunis pada sekitar tahun 1948-1960...

It was built to commemorate the Malay soldiers who was killed while fighting against the threat of Communist soldiers around the years 1948-1960...

Wednesday 13th April 2016, I went to this building for a job.

Ia adalah bangunan untuk IIUM Crescent, satu badan di bawah Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM).

It is the building for the IIUM Crescent, a body under the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).

Reka bentuk dan seni binanya amat terserlah...

It's design and architecture stands out very much...

Ia kelihatan memiliki ciri-ciri binaan lama Andalusia di Sepanyol 600 tahun yang lampau...

Looks like it has the building traits of old Andalusia in Spain 600 years ago...
