When I first noticed the drastic changes of the building of Kampung Baru mosque 2 weeks ago it was at night. It was on yesterday that I had the opportunity to stop by at daytime.

Ketika itu hampir jam 4 sudah mula hujan.

At that time almost 4 o'clock it was already raining.

Tetapi saya teruskan juga berjalan kaki dari tempat letak kereta ke masjid untuk mengambil gambar.

But I still pressed on walking from the car park to the mosque to take pictures.

Ini kerana rumah saya teletak lebih 50 km daipada masjid ini. Tak tahu bila lagi ada masa untuk singgah lagi.

This is because my house is located more than 50 km from this mosque. Don't know when there would be time to stop by next.

OK. Selepas memaparkan artikel Rupa baru Masjid Jamek Kuala Lumpur (New look of the main mosque of Kuala Lumpur) tadi saya mahu menunjukkan rupa baru Masjid Kampung Baru di Kuala Lumpur. Kemudian baru tersedar saya tidak pernah membuat apa-apa artikel menunjukkan keadaan Masjid Kampung Baru yang terdahulu. Maka haruslah ditunjukkan rupa lama ia terlebih dahulu.

OK. After showing the article Rupa baru Masjid Jamek Kuala Lumpur (New look of the main mosque of Kuala Lumpur) just now I wanted to show the new look of Masjid (mosque of) Kampung Baru in Kuala Lumpur. Then I realised that I've never made any article showing the previous condition of Masjid Kampung Baru. Thus I have to show its old look first.

Oleh kerana tidak ingat di manakah diletakkan gambar-gambar lama masjid yang pernah diambil sendiri saya harus mencari apa yang dapat di Internet. 

As I cannot remember where I've kept old pictures of the mosque which I have taken myself I have to look at what is available on the Internet.

Nasib baik saya masih cam rupa lama dan dapat menemui beberapa keping gambar. Itulah yang dikongsi untuk artikel ini.

Luckily I could still recognise the old look and found a few pieces of pictures. That is what is shared for this article.

Beginilah rupa masjid yang saya ingat beberapa tahun lalu.

This is the look of the mosque as I remembered from a number of years ago.

Dalam tempoh 2-3 tahun kebelakangan perubahan nyata yang dapat saya lihat adalah didirikan sebuah menara azan yang tinggi di luar. Sebelum itu menara di pintu masuk ini adalah bahagian paling tinggi masjid.

Within the period of 2-3 years ago the only clear change I could see was there has been build a tall minaret (or call to prayer tower) outside. Before that the tower at this entrance was the highest part of the mosque.

Sekitar 2 minggu lalu saya ke masjid ini setelah lama tidak singgah di sana. 

Around 2 weeks ago I went to this mosque after a long time not stepping foot there.

Lalu terlihatlah perubahan amat drastik dan ini akan ditunjukkan pada artikel seterusnya...

Thus was seen very drastic changes and this would be shown in the following article...

Petang semalam saya singgah di Masjid Jamek Kuala Lumpur.

Last afternoon I stopped by at the Masjid Jamek (main mosque of) Kuala Lumpur.

Saya mahu melihat perkembangan kerja-kerja renovasi masjid.

I wanted to have a look at the development of renovation works on the mosque.

Dari luar tadi satu nampak perbezaan yang nyata. Ruang menuju masuk ke halaman sudah dilebarkan dan ada kawasan tiang berpayung di sisi.

From the outside one can already see obvious differences. The space leading to its lawn has been widened and the is an area with canopies on pillars at the side.

The mosque's main buildings itself looks like it stays the same. Refer to the old article Masjid jamek (Main mosque of) Kuala Lumpur.

Yang banyak berubah adalah kawasan halaman.

Most of the changes happened at the lawn area.

Kita lihat sayap kanan masjid.

We look at the right wing of the mosque.

Ke hadapan boleh kelihatan perubahan besar dilakukan pada halaman...

At the front could be seen major changes to the lawn...

Menuju ke bahagian utama di tengah...

Heading towards the main section in the middle...

Keluar balik untuk melihatan halaman belakang tengah...

Going back outside to look at the rear middle lawn...

Pada saya di sinilah perubahan paling nyata kelihatan...

For me this is where the changes look most pronounced...

Dahulu halaman sebelah sini adalah sempit, tidak ada payung dan lain-lain.

Previously the lawn here was narrow, there was no canopy and other things.

Sekarang ada ruang besar yang membuat bangunan utama masjid yang berusia lebih 100 tahun ini kelihatan begitu terserlah.

Now there is huge space which makes the main building of the mosque which is more than 100 years old look so outstanding.

Ini nampaknya dapat dilakukan dengan membuka ruang serapat mungkin ke Sungai Klang di sebelah...

This looks like it has been done by opening up the space to as close as possible to the Klang river besides...

Kawasan pemakaman di sebelah masjid Batak Rabit (The tomb area besides the Batak Rabit mosque)

Bila dah sampai ke masjid Batak Rabit saya juga akan mengambil kesempatan untuk menziarahi kawasan pemakaman di sebelahnya.

Ia adalah kawasan pemakaman yang terhad untuk satu cabang keluarga Laksamana Raja Mahkota, satu pangkat bangsawan di Hilir Perak.

It is a tomb area limited to a branch of the family of Laksamana Raja Mahkota, a rank for the nobles of lower Perak.

Ayah kepada ayah saya juga datuk kepada ayah saya telah dimakamkan di sini.

My father's father and also my father's grandfather were laid to rest here.
