One of the places that should be visited if one comes to Brunei is the Royal Regalia Building.
Inside are available many items concerning the royal institution of Brunei.
Visitors are not allowed to take pictures inside the side galleries. Cameras are not allowed in and have to be left behind inside lockers.
Namun kita dibolehkan mengambil gambar di galeri bawah tengah merangkap luang legar.
But we are allowed to take pictures at the lower centre gallery which is also the lobby.
This section features items which have to be carried while making procession for the coronation of a Sultan.
I can't remember how these items are ordered, which ones at the back which ones in front...
Cukuplah disebut saya melihatnya dengan berjalan melawan arah jam.
Suffice to say I looked at it while walking anti-clockwise.
Barangan paling utama adalah usungan beroda.
The main item is a wheeled carriage.
Di atasnyalah Sultan duduk ketika dibawa berarak.
It is on top of it that the Sultan sits while being carried in procession.
Sedikit penerangan.
A bit of explanation.
OK.
OK. Among the interesting items inside the side galleries of which pictures can't be taken of is what is called the Tongkat Ajai.
I am able to show its look because it is featured in the brochure.
There is also a list of items to be carried about during procession for coronation.
Malangnya apabila diteliti risalah ternyata tiada penerangan tentang Tongkat Ajai.
Too bad when the brochure is looked at closely there is no explanation on Tongkat Ajai.
Luckily I have read some explanation at the gallery. If memory serves me right it is some sort of stick to support the chin while the Sultan sits on the throne.
